While these factors may contribute to the lack of female representation in the maritime industry, I don't believe that seafaring is off limits for women at all! With increased representation of women in the field, more resources for women to feel safe and respected, and more support for working mothers, I believe that more women will be encouraged to pursue a career in the maritime industry.
